Michael Oyugi Oimo is an experienced insurance, pensions, investment and business development professional with more than 30 years of experience spanning insurance underwriting, retirement benefits, investment advisory, business development, product development, corporate strategy and financial-services administration. He is a Director at Mfarusi Insurance Agency Limited and MOOBA Company Limited.

His professional career has included senior leadership roles with ALICO Kenya, CFC Life Assurance, ICEA and ICEA LION Life Assurance, where he rose to Assistant General Manager – Group Business Development at ICEA LION Life Assurance.

Michael has extensive expertise in group life insurance, pension schemes, medical insurance, annuities, pension income drawdown, QROPS, employee benefits, underwriting, claims administration, scheme administration and investment advisory.

He has developed operations manuals, training materials, marketing strategies, pension trust documentation, member information materials and business systems. His experience in the retirement benefits sector includes trustee governance, strategic planning, investment performance, scheme administration and regulatory compliance. He has also participated in trustee board meetings and annual general meetings and supported members and retirees in understanding annuity and pension income drawdown options.

Michael has served as a trainer and facilitator in retirement benefits and insurance and has been involved in the Trustee Development Program Kenya. He has trained trustees from state corporations, multinational organisations, international organisations, private companies and NGOs across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. He also played a key role in the 2019 review and development of the Trustee Development Program Kenya curriculum and training manual.

His business development experience includes sales leadership, marketing strategy, client retention, product development, risk assessment, underwriting, bancassurance, alternative distribution, intermediary relationships and corporate client management. At ICEA LION Life Assurance, he led teams, developed marketing strategies, strengthened business systems and processes and supported the expansion of new business.

Earlier in his career at ALICO Kenya, Michael served as Profit Centre Manager – Group Management Division, supporting group life, pension, credit and medical business for corporate and individual clients. He also participated in industry committees and stakeholder forums relating to group life, pensions and regulatory developments.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Insurance from the University of Nairobi, a Post Graduate Diploma in Insurance and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), London. He has undertaken specialist training in employee benefits, pensions, strategic management, leadership, underwriting, managed care, product development and business strategy, including certification through Humber University of Canada’s Centre for Employee Benefits and Pensions.

George Huma is a finance, accounting, human resources and management professional with more than 20 years of experience in finance, accounting, taxation, business development, strategy and organisational management. He is the Founder and CEO of Jostar Consultant Limited.

George has provided business support and consultancy services to organisations and entrepreneurs across different sectors, including tourism and travel, logistics, hospitality and other businesses. His work has included supporting foreign entrepreneurs establishing businesses in Kenya and assisting local enterprises with business development, management and operational requirements.

His professional experience includes serving as Regional Administration and Finance Manager for Air France/KLM for approximately 10 years, with responsibilities covering six countries in Eastern Africa. He has also worked as Regional Finance Manager at ABC Expats in Nairobi and participated in the establishment of Fast Forward Freight in Kampala. His consultancy experience has included assignments associated with business development and organisational establishment, including work connected with the Nigeria Integrated Social Housing Cooperative in Abuja.

George has experience in financial management, accounting, taxation, business strategy, business development, human resource management and general business support. His work with organisations and entrepreneurs has involved practical guidance on financial and administrative matters, operational planning and business development.

He has participated in professional and management development programmes in Kenya and Europe, including the Professional Management Development programme at Strathmore Business School and management development training at GIBS University of Pretoria.

George holds CPA, CPS and MSC qualifications and has professional and management training across finance, accounting, taxation, human resources, strategy and organisational management. He is also associated with professional and management organisations and continues to apply practical financial and organisational knowledge in supporting businesses and their operations.
